Matrix Determinants with the Casio fx-115es
On my previous video lesson, we learned how to calculate 2x2 and 2x3 matrix determinants by hand. This is good to know; however, using a calculator has its advantages. One is accuracy. I am told that the exam-writers calculate incorrect answer choices using common mistakes; your calculator will not drop a sign or add when it is supposed to subtract, so you can avoid those common errors. The other is time. You may be able to calculate a 2x2 matrix determinant quickly but if you know how to use it, the Casio fx-115es can save you a minute or two on a 3x3 matrix.
